It might not sound like a climate job, but mechanical insulators help make buildings more energy efficient. Laura Lynch, host of CBC’s ‘What on Earth’ podcast, heads out to meet a young woman who trained in the trade through a program set up by the Youth Climate Corps BC. The group is training young people around BC for a wide variety of good, green jobs and hopes to expand across the country.

This feature gave the YCC the opportunity to share how their partnership with the BC Insulators Union is helping train the next generation in energy-efficient building techniques, an essential step toward reducing carbon emissions and improving climate resilience.

By equipping young people with hands-on skills and meaningful work, Youth Climate Corps is not only supporting their futures but also making a tangible impact on the environment. If you missed the segment, be sure to check it out and learn more about how trades can be a force for climate action!

This episode highlights the urgent need for climate-resilient trades and the role young people can play in building a more sustainable future.
